WGBH Interactive is looking for an Associate Web Developer to develop
front-end web pages and games for our educational site, Teachers&#8217; Domain
(http://www.teachersdomain.org) and our children's programs hosted at PBS
Kids (http://pbskids.org). Working with a Senior Developer or other Lead,
the Associate Developer will maintain and support the technical architecture
of the web site, and contribute to design and strategic planning processes.
As part of a small cross-functional team, the Associate Developer's role
will give feedback to the design and editorial teams, as well as provide
end-user technical support. Time will be split among writing code,
implementing design comps, and updating content.

To perform the required duties, the Associate Web Developer must possess the
skills and qualities required to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Computer
Science, and more than 1 year of work experience solving problems for
web-based environments. The Associate Web Developer must be able to
demonstrate familiarity with Internet technologies including HTML, CSS, and
JavaScript, (no WYSIWYG tools). Experience with Flash and ActionScript (2
and/or 3) is required. Experience preparing audio and video for the web, and
creating optimized, scalable and secure Flash applications is desirable.
Developers must be comfortable working on a Mac OS X system, and have
experience with Windows and Unix environments. Candidates should be prepared
to share and discuss code samples.
