WGBH 2009-11-05T19:53:23Z Front-end Developer, with ActionScript WGBH Interactive is looking for an Associate Web Developer to develop front-end web pages and games for our educational site, Teachers’ Domain (http://www.teachersdomain.org) and our children's programs hosted at PBS Kids (http://pbskids.org). Working with a Senior Developer or other Lead, the Associate Developer will maintain and support the technical architecture of the web site, and contribute to design and strategic planning processes. As part of a small cross-functional team, the Associate Developer's role will give feedback to the design and editorial teams, as well as provide end-user technical support. Time will be split among writing code, implementing design comps, and updating content.  To perform the required duties, the Associate Web Developer must possess the skills and qualities required to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, and more than 1 year of work experience solving problems for web-based environments. The Associate Web Developer must be able to demonstrate familiarity with Internet technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, (no WYSIWYG tools). Experience with Flash and ActionScript (2 and/or 3) is required. Experience preparing audio and video for the web, and creating optimized, scalable and secure Flash applications is desirable. Developers must be comfortable working on a Mac OS X system, and have experience with Windows and Unix environments.
